Pink and Purple Blooms

There is strength in letting go and painting. There’s pink, purple, blue, and a little sparkle. These colors are the creativity, faith, and play that should be in every painting session. I layered, splattered, painted and you know what, this is the best painting I’ve done in a long time. I say best because this is me, my ideas. Yes, my influences come from everywhere. But I’m not painting with outside forces. It’s just me. It’s the tools. Sure I’m holding the brush and gliding it along the page but the idea takes over. It isn’t about me. It’s the idea.

Kute Blackson had this amazing quote in one of his posts. Surrender your attachment to the outcome and get into the flow. Yes! That is what I did for this painting. I need to keep going.

One of the quotes for my collage flowers is as follows:

It’s the small ideas that lead to the biggest blooms. What happens in the middle is endurance, love and spirit.

I’ve been sketching with pencil and paper. Now I’m sketching with color. I was browsing product selections on Society 6. Throw blankets? When the day is cold, you can come home, and wrap yourself up in bright flowers. I like it!

I was tired as I painted these flowers. Suddenly the colors made me smile and free of tired thoughts. I want to continue to paint for joy. In the meantime, I’m practicing. I can review creating surface patterns. Most importantly, I can spread happiness. Creatively Hue is about small ideas and what happens in the middle. With every project, I am brighter and bolder. Ok I need to practic!

Very Peri-Pantone Color of 2022

I’m excited about this color. I have been painting with purple since I realized that purple is creativity.

You get purple when you mix red and blue. Blue is the color of faith. Red is the color of passion and playfulness. When I think of red I think of Love, McDonald’s and Coca Cola. When I think of blue I think of oceans and skies. You do need faith and passion for creativity and imagination.

Yes I have purple as a color entry in my de colores book but I’m also going to include an entry for the color of the year.

Perhaps a little poem

There’s nothing shy about very peri.

Sweet like creme and berries.

Creativity is royalty.

Have your cup of tea

It’s not just purple, that’s so typical.

It’s a little more blue, just the right pink..so unmistakbale.

The name is so… I can I will I AM.

I’m the woman who knows she’s the man.

Oh very peri

Hidden Gems in painting roses

These are the blooms I wrote about a few days ago. The brown pink rose, who knew that mixing red with black would make a brown pink. A dagger brush makes it easier to do the thin and thick strokes. You can use a round brush but a dagger seems to work better for me. I love using blue in my leaves. Yes it’s an idea that I borrowed from another artist. Only my greens and blues are bold.

I started reading a book on the meaning of flowers. I want to write more pomes and quotes. I”ll be painting today.

Use new tools like a dagger brush to paint flowers

I think I got my groove back. I threw out three sheets of paper, good watercolor paper. I kept painting. Take your time. Paint. See what the dagger brush can do. Wait a minute, that’s what helped me! These blooms are filled with faith. All week I hadn’t painted a single bloom worth sharing. All were filled with wonderful ideas. My flowers just weren’t blooming, yet Today in moments, my blooms were back, I restocked a warm white acrylic paint and ready to paint this weekend.

Painting Flowers By Shape

This Cotton paper is a dream to paint with. The sheet came with a few tubes of paint I ordered on Amazon. What an awesome gesture. For some reason the paint on the flower petals became lighter as it dried. Blending is easier. With the Canson Paper the color can get lost in the paper. I had a small piece of this wonderful paper to test and I had to make good use of it. I need practice with digitizing.

A project can help you discover, learn and grow. The next time I am so quick to doubt and ask, have I wasted my time instead ask what have I learned.

Painting flowers

Today was a great day. I did what I do when I’m surounded by art supplies. I created. This morning I began another round of editing. There’s much work to be done. This process is tedious and it helps to paint. Painting always helps. I did some research for the love book. Painting flowers in differnet color and shape seems like a good way to let my curosity play, stay positive and deal with the craziness of working on various projects at once. I plan on scanning these for more art posibilities.
