hills of trees ( Day 3 )

Taking your time when painting is a good way to gather your thoughts. I’ve been contemplating the direction of my art.

I had all these ideas … pages of ideas to market and promote my site and books. I had this big agenda, trying to pencil it all in. Yes I have lots of time to create but what’s the effective approach?

All I know is that taking my time allows me to enjoy the process. I love these trees and have more ideas for textures and page layouts. I can use road trip to help me create themes for pages.

Wait a minute, perhaps I should start a pinterest board on awesome textures? These are some of the textures my Lee friends made.

There was no plans. We painted textures on heart shaped leaves. They turned out beautifully. I insisted on tones of green but they knew better.

I’ll keep painting textures. Oh I have a fun way to work on my drawing. I’m building an around the world pinterest board and could draw architecture and art.

Let me go work on the pinterest board.

hills of trees (work in progress)

I’m coming into the idea of painting lovely textures. I just painted these trees with no particular plan. I’m taking my time filling every empty space. I love nature. I know they are just trees. I can’t remember where I saw them. Somewhere along the highway they grew. I was probably tired, grumpy, and hungry but these trees gave me comfort.

Yes I saw stars, rain and these weird looking things … yes I think I can do a lot with texture pages. It’s a fun no pressure way to tell my story. Why not? I know I need to work on the drawing. And I did a good deal drawing when I started this book.

Why not just let go and see what happens.
