Writing allows me to freely express myself. Writing helps me reflect. With a book you can go anywhere in the world you want to go. Writing is a doorway to the spirit. I blog because I’m not confident being on camera for a YouTube channel. Yes I know, and that’s why it’ll be good to film my course. I’ve been filming idea pins for Pinterest.
Paper collage has really become one of my techniques. My inspiration comes from Eric Carle. Paper Collage has taught me to trust my process and learn about color.
That’s right I started my wild thoughts paper collage flowers project. I am almost done. I should create a video of all of them. The book will be out spring of 2023.
These pink roses are included in my list of colors too. I’ve been working on creating different shades of pink. These pinks made me realize how much I love pink. Blue is my favorite color but pink we are going places. The print is here.
Alma Libre means free soul in Spanish. A free soul, a free spirit is what I strive to be.
Smile is my favorite because the swatch of pink in all the orange makes me smile. I can’t wait to put all of these blooms in a book. Oh right, that’s on my list for 2023 too.
How did I get the color so right? I did.
All I have to say is napkins, watercolor ink, and water. Oh and this reminds me of the summer art class I got to teach. I should have taken pictures of what my students created.
I do certainly feel love when I am creating.
Oh my, this mat is new. I have painted a lot this year. I’m excited about the ideas to come. This one is also in my shop.
I want to do more trees.
This butterfly was for #createwithcaqcoq. Going through my work today makes me want to flutter from idea to idea. Why not! If you’re interested in purchasing any prints please click here.
Thanks for reading and hope my lists are inspiring you to look and think about all the work you did this year.
What I love most about paper collage is that you get to paint all these simple textures. Yet the beauty is revealed when you cut leaves or flowers. You let your eyes arrange. Color comes alive. Paper collage does take longer to create. It’s easier to pick up the paintbrush and paint. I rarely throw out a collage project. That’s because I get an idea. Today it was a sunflower. I wanted a pink sunflower.
It’s like the idea comes to life. I’m just the hands. the painter that puts it together.
I wanted an idea to express the importance of taking care of you.
I was drawn to an Ana Victoria Calderon book project because it helped me express how colorful and beautiful our world is. Wait a minute! Is this in my shop? It should be. That reminds me, I need a white ink pen. I want to write something at the bottom of the page.
This window display had me. I had to do my own version.
This is a book project in the works.
I’ve got many more ideas.
I have been posting idea pins on how I paint my flowers along with a little artist chat. These videos are preparation for the collage course. I’ve not forgotten. Not sure how I started working on paper collage. Oh right, it was Eric Carle!
In case you haven’t noticed art is my life! I love painting and enjoy writing abot it too. Thank you for reading and subscribing to my blog. If you have a friend who would enjoy these posts then share it. If you have a blog please use the contact form to let me know about it.
I used to have these dreams of flying among the city lights. No cars. No noise. No right. No wrong. Just me, the moon, and the stars.
This weekend I painted three or four colorful abstract backgrounds. I have tons of flowers with white backgrounds.
In between these pages will be full page color. I want more color in the book. This book already makes me happy. I was asked an important question. What dream are you working on? This book is my dream. It’s a book filled with strokes of color and colorful thoughts.
Actually, it’s fall and it feels like summer. I just came home from an evening stroll and spring is in the air.
The day is warm and easy. I walk among colors. There are peach roses, pink daisies oh, and white and yellow roses too. I stop and admire it all. I take a deep breath. That’s when I see the rhythm of the petals. I can’t explain it, but the beauty of nature, how it all works together makes me want to dance, right there on the sidewalk. Sometimes I do. My spirit always dances. Today my spirit danced because now is fall, then comes winter, and finally glorious spring. Spring is neverending. Maybe I did explain how nature makes me feel?
Paper collage flowers are my lates book project
Last night, I painted lovely shades of blue paper. Right now I’ll work on a few blue blooms. I have this folder full of paper collage blooms and collage paper yet to bloom. This book helps me reflect. I can work on my art at lunchtime and trust the process. I’ll keep cutting pasting and writing until I have the book Blooming Thoughts for a Wild Spirit. The book will be colorful, whimsical and invite the reader to entertain their ideas and perhaps realize them. I should include a few pages for readers to paint their own flowers? What a great idea!
You can find the video of my paper collage process on Pinterest. Pinterest is the place where I pin all of my supplies, nature walks, and process videos. The videos are wonderful to practice for my collage course.
If you truly don’t like the fiesta you’ve been invited to,
Host your own fiesta, just know there’ll be lots to do.
I do like to express my thoughts in poems. Working on the collage flowers and the life is a fiesta sticker was good too. I’ve been seeing colorful Hispanic Heritage displays and merchandise. I was motivated to create something. I am proud of my Mexican Heritage.
Siempre,
Mireya
Wait a minute, would you like this poem in art print form? I think I like it.
I have been getting my shop ready for holiday shoppers. What I really want is to clarify what I’m painting and why?
I paint because of how it makes me feel. It’s my self-love and meditation. I’ve been going through my artwork. I’m signing my art with my name instead of Creatively Hue. I sign my posts with Siempre Mireya and likewise for my art. I got rid of art that was questionable right from the start. You know the moment when you finish your work? And the finished art doesn’t look like the beauty you imagined. Either one of two thoughts happens. The artwork is better than imagined. Or the artwork is lacking. I share the lacking work because maybe it’s me. Maybe I am stuck on expectations instead of letting the artwork be what it’s going to be.
For these blooms and the collage book these flowers will be part of, doodle with you!
The collage course is still happeing. I’m thinking March 2023?
Thank you for reading! If you can, use the contact form and let me know what you like about the blog? What would you like to read? Many of you have and thank you. And please if you have friends who would enjoy reading this blog, share it with them.
Doesn’t the smile bloom make you smile? The brushstrokes and color make me smile. I’ve been holding on to the green paper. Oh but the lines create such a texture! I like the other quote too.
You are a part of nature. Nature is living breathing and beautiful!
These words make me smile too. I was supposed to write, not sure what the original thought was but these words work! I should spend time writing for these blooms. Eventually, I will have a book full of these blooms. Each page, has its own thought, color, and texture.
I”m looking for a stamp to replace my awesome candle lid. I can get like an old wall texture. Oh that’s right, I used yellow green collage paper for the leaves and stem isntead of the painted ones. It’s even better.
These paper collage flowers help declutter my mind, meditate, breathe, pray, reflect, LOVE, play and smile! That is everything I want my art to be. It’s going to be a great book. I know I’m not the only one who needs my expressive wildflowers.
Alright so what am I working on this week?
Let’s see more collage blooms, of course, acrylic flowers with a q-tip technique I saw on Pinterest, lunchtime writing and sketching, add work to my shop and what shall I paint to celebrate my birthday?
Not sure about the title for my next book project but wildflowers are what I paint. Wildflowers are wild and free. On my daily walks, I see these blooms. There’s this lawn. In the spring it was covered with tall grass and random colorful flowers. The way my thoughts meet their color and breeze, as I write the freeness and wild dreams linger. You know when you go for a walk and you begin with a thought. With each step, you let go. With every breath, you dream, you imagine and live your artist dreams. Every bloom I paint has the essence of wild and free.
Everything in nature is wild and free. It’s beautiful. The Just Ask book expresses this wonderfuly. I’m an expressive artist who paints wildflowers. Flowers that are wild and free. With every bloom I paint, I am brighter, bolder, and free. The time is now to let go of all that no longer serves me. Oh, one of my favorite songs is Quiero Ser! Yes my about me page needs revision.
My new book project will be page after page of these collage blooms. Each fower filled with experiences, thoughts and it’ll be a self-love memoir. Maybe. In the meantime, I will keep creating these blooms.
Look at this texture. All I have to say is on the way home I noticed these four palm trees. I have driven by, walked by many times but today I saw them. It changed the course of my thoughts. My writing looks pretty good. It’s good! Work like this is my favorite. I’ve been going through my work. What humble beginnings. At the time I didn’t care because it was my work, my ideas, my play. I even wrote the words I’m proud of my work.
By the way the work of which I speak is or was on skillshare. I arranged my profile to include my favorite projects. I created over 100 projects. If you want to see the collection go here. Tomorrow’s going to be an awesome topic.
