There you are walking along, sometimes the deep or negative kind and a butterlfy flutters past you settling on a flower. Yes it’s the color, it’s the butterfly that changes my perspective. I worte these words days ago. Reading my words and editing—I want to share it now.

I’m looking up texture ideas and rounding up objects. Oh I need to find the embroidered ribbon. I’ve started a folder for texture papers. I’ll be using all kinds of paper. The collage floral one is looking good. I may add this yellow butterfly to the book, I may not. This is my story, my thoughts so why not just paint textures. Instead of thinking about what to do just paint. Then I can pair the texture with the color thought. Sounds like a dream!

Ornaments do paint flowers

Oh they do and what a fabulous idea! Not sure when it began? Oh right I was on a quest to paint 100 flowers. The mni ornament was part of gift wrappng on a snow globle jar? I love the ornament.

I’ll finish up these blooms today. They will be amazing!

Stamping with a random object will be one of the five flower ideas for the Creative Bloom course. Ok now I’ll go work on de coloroes.

Paint with a random object and see what happens. Oh I’ll be doing that when I paint textures today. Oh happy day!

Very Peri-Pantone Color of 2022

I’m excited about this color. I have been painting with purple since I realized that purple is creativity.

Very Peri Bloom Framed Art Print

You get purple when you mix red and blue. Blue is the color of faith. Red is the color of passion and playfulness. When I think of red I think of Love, McDonald’s and Coca Cola. When I think of blue I think of oceans and skies. You do need faith and passion for creativity and imagination.

Yes I have purple as a color entry in my de colores book but I’m also going to include an entry for the color of the year.

Perhaps a little poem

There’s nothing shy about very peri.

Sweet like creme and berries.

Creativity is royalty.

Have your cup of tea

It’s not just purple, that’s so typical.

It’s a little more blue, just the right pink..so unmistakbale.

The name is so… I can I will I AM.

I’m the woman who knows she’s the man.

Oh very peri

This year’s gonna be merry!

Ok I just wrote that poem and I’m sharing it? I made me giggle in that I’m going to paint something awesome sort of way. I am having so much fun with this book.

Sunshine Bloom and Textures

Sunshine Pink & Orange Bloom

Stamping with the handle of a paint brush creates beautiful texture. I watched a few videos on how to paint paper for collage. Eric Carle inspires my work. You have fun. You play. You open up to what happens. It’s always a beautiful experience.

For this bloom you add drops of acrylic on the page. Use a flat brush to blend and spread the paint creating petals. You can add a little more white where you want pink. The colors I used are Indian Yellow, Magenta, and White.

Ok now I’m going to use the last scraps of papaer I have and one final flower for this year of course. I saw this video last night and I have a new project idea!

Beauty is always blooming

I love the idea of Creative Bloom the course. Painting on copy paper feels so free. Yes I wrote these words yesterday but wow I’m on a roll here.

Paper roll flowers are amazing to paint. You never know what the flower will look like. You have to paint and see what happens. There’s beauty waiting to bloom. We just have to get out of our way and PAINT.

Make art because it’s how you grow.

Make art because it’s how you bloom.

Make art because it’s how you learn about you.

Make art because you have to let go.

Make art because you want to.

This week I am going to paint this again. Ditch the block letters for my hand writing? Add more flowers? Stamp flowers? What random objects could I use to make my blooms? Brighter peaches and pinks? Oh yeah!

It is going to be good. I have lots more ideas. Oh I love where my art is going.
