Expressive Flowers

A poem about magical socks

I’m still thinking about how simple is the most magical. I wrote this poem a year ago but today I feel it. I’m expressing my experience with putting on a cozy pair of socks on a cold day.

Christmas is in every day.

Art, a walk in the park, dance or baking are shields for blustery days.

Right now I am in my cozy socks, choosing a snack and watching a movie.

My biggest shield from a blustery day is spending hours with paintbrush in hand, supplies laid before me, and time.

Oh, to be right here in the moment.

To laugh because your spirit feels whole.

Now that I thnk of it, I wrote this poem over a mess. Who knows what I was painting. It didn’t work. But the poem did!
