How to make leaves-india ink +tracing paper

Years ago I did a food coloring fall tree. It was for an RSP class. I thought I had the images but I deleted them. I should check my backup phone files. I deleted them. Here’s an interesting link. Today I’m going to recreate this project. Only instead of coffee filters and food coloring I’ll be using India ink and tracing paper. Perhaps leaves too. Tracing paper has a different texture and weight than filter paper.

What a great idea! I could use tracing paper for collage. Thick acrylic paint with interesting textures. Adding drops of color to a ceramic plate and then pressing the paper into the paint works great. Eyedropper not so good.

I am grateful for every opportunity that I have to share my art. I welcome many more days. I believe it’s official . I like the name Creatively Hue. I am all about creating for a better you. By the way I keep a collection of all things that insprie my work. Yesterday I added a bunch of Corita Kent work to my hand lettering board. She’s such and inspiration.

Ink+ Strawberries

I’ve painted with ink before but never like this. Part of this project is creative exploration. I’ve looked at texture videos and found an artist who paints with only ink. The colors are vibrant. I use them to mix with other watercolors.

I really like the easy flow of painting with liquid. Sometimes too much water makes a mess. With liqud you get solid color. The other day I painted strawberries.

It’s interesting that some strawberries have a heart shape. Some reveal a heart when you slice them in half. The strawberry I painted here was one featured in a recipe blog. There’s this odd shape but there’s a heart nonetheless. I thought…

Everybody loves strawberries. One can eat them as is. You can make Strawberry Shortcake, lemonade, ice cream…who thought of these ideas? We all have this “sweet likeablikty” but what are we going to do with it? Strawberries are good but there’s delicious possibilities. Wait, not everyone likes strawberries. What does all this have to do with love? Plenty.
