Here’s the lemon. The candle lid floral stamp is hardly visible, Tracing paper may not be the best option for stamping. I do like this simple lemon and the idea is even better. I should have taken more care in gluing the lemon. Somehow the unintended bubbles reinformace my thought. Lemons like life’s problems can be too bitter to eat alone. What makes a world of difference is knowing that just the right amount of lemon makes good chicken or bars. The choice is always ours. I write and create the advice I need.

I can’t believe it’s Friday again. I have been painitng lots of new work. Much of it is me saying I’m gong to paint. I don’t know what I’ll paint. Or paint corn but end up painting lemons and leaves. Oh I painted curcles and a cactus. Collage lettering. Life is truly better when I paint what I want. I am better.

Have a good weekend. I’ll probably do a weekend post.

Yesterday I posted about Dada art and letting the idea take oer. Today my reading continues with the same topic. Let it be means you let go of everything else. Let go of what you know and go. My intention was improving my drawing and hand lettering. A floral arrangement on the wall gave me an idea. As I drew the idea kept growing. I followed. Don’t manipulate the tools. Let the tools work through you.

Your work is a gift and when you recognize this magic happens. Words from another artist.

My version of a Mexican Marigold

I’ve been looking at doors, homes, water, art, people, food… beauty from around the world. I love learning about culture. Oh and the dragon bridge in Vietnam. In my next adventure I will be drawing, sketching and writing for a new book Around The World. I may still do a few flowers. SOmething else always comes up.

Here’s to learning how to be a better me by learning about others.

Keep Going

I painted these flowers a few weeks ago. Time flies when you are in peace. This was part of my hand painting floral series. You create a hand fist and stamp with the bottom of your hand. You stamp in a circular motion. The color was all wrong. I kept it in a keep going pile. Sometimes work has an agenda of it’s own. Nothing a little oil pastel and pencil couldn’t fix.

Next week I want to go over my plans for the remainder of the year. Reflect on my work and work on projects, see where my thoughts lead me. Beginning November 1st I begin celebrations and exploring the world. Dia De Los Muertos is a perfect time to start.

CreativelyHue is the new name.

Decorate A Pumpkin With You

I painted these pumpkins last year? Deep down we know who we are. Yet we play the imposter card. What will they think? But the idea is stupid. I won’t succeed. Not with talk like that you won’t. These pumpkins were inspired by a think.make.share post. The blog does this every year.

You are who you are for a reason. All I know is that I make better art when it comes frome me. In my creative zone there is no doubt, fear, happiness or passion. There’s this need to create. And well, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to the fulfilment of knowing others will benefit too.

A few of you have asked or want to leave comments. I don’t display likes or allow comments because my blog is my creative zone. This is my place where I can be free to observe and make. I have so many ideas. Every single piece of art I make brings me closer to my true self. I can only hope it radiates. Have a little fun. What is your favorite color, song, character, book or quote. Decoratae a pumpkin.

On another note I am thinking of a new name. Blue Apple Studio? Observe.Think.Make? (this one just came to me)

The days are geting shorter. Summer weather is taking its time. All the more reason to long for sweater days and fall nights. Is there ever a winter in Los Angeles?

I didn’t like the pumpkin version of this so I painted a tree, Oh yes, I drew this tree after reading Bruno Munari. Not too sure about the color scheme, Is this a little melancholic? My problem is that I saw this tree a different way. I definitely worked through this painting. Paper and paint do make a difference. The major difference comes from you.

Then I see the swing and gaze up at the moon. And the stars. One could be boggled with doubt. Then you look up and the moon, she speaks of love.

Now I’ll go work on a floral pinata. Thanks so much for all of you who sunscribe. Creativity is in my blood. I enjoy sharing my lessons and projects because I know I’m not the only one. There’s lots more to come!

Make something new

I am all about lovely backgrounds these days. Usually my work is colorful against a white background. I adore color. I am not sure but it’s a style that emphasizes color. That’s how I’ve painted. I’ve also deviated from blue a little. I always keep coming back. Blue is a tranquil color. It looks good on everyone. There’s tones of invitation, warmth, FAITH, melancholy, peace…I could go on. For one moment the lettering could have been blue. The lettering looks good in brown. That’s a note for this creative exploration journal.

For today I want to say have no doubt. Do what you must. Take care of you. The universe will always have yuor back.

This design was used with a dried raindrop stamp. Works great with paint! Oh I did paint a flower.

New post time is every day a 9 am pacific time with the occasional anytime weekend post.
