Pink and Purple Blooms

There is strength in letting go and painting. There’s pink, purple, blue, and a little sparkle. These colors are the creativity, faith, and play that should be in every painting session. I layered, splattered, painted and you know what, this is the best painting I’ve done in a long time. I say best because this is me, my ideas. Yes, my influences come from everywhere. But I’m not painting with outside forces. It’s just me. It’s the tools. Sure I’m holding the brush and gliding it along the page but the idea takes over. It isn’t about me. It’s the idea.

Kute Blackson had this amazing quote in one of his posts. Surrender your attachment to the outcome and get into the flow. Yes! That is what I did for this painting. I need to keep going.

One brush blue flowers

I forgot to upload the photo to yesterday’s post. Fixed it.

I’ve been arriving at my art sessions with an idea. Then I start creating. There’s no is this going to sell? Will I write about this project? All I do is create and it’s good. The blue blooms for example, are imperfectly beautiful!

Can I paint flowers with one brush? A blue shade I saw in an Anthropologie ad was on my mind. I mixed a little orange with yellow ochre for the centers. I added a little orange to my green for the stems and leaves. Now these are the colors I can work with.

My spirit is free and has been this entire week. I like sketching. I love painting. Today I painted paper and created wild thoughts collage flowers. I’m going to post the video on Pinterest tomorrow.

I’ve been making idea-pin videos on Pinterest. This is my get-friendly with the camera phase. I’m going to publish a collage course. I need practice. I keep thinking am I ready to publish a collage course? Should I wait? I should publish the course anyway. Pinterest is a good starting point. I’ve been doing nature walk videos and idea pins.

As always thank you for reading, please follow me on Pinterest. Subscribe to my blog. You can find me on Instagram too.

Have a good week.

Much Love

Sometimes I feel small

but then I see you growing and it’s all so tall

And I come to my senses

This season, especially at this moment, I feel much love.

My poems are getting better. My blooms are wildly free? That’s a good aspiration. Here’s to you. Here’s to me. Here’s to us!

Copy Paper Feels So Free

I ran out of mixed media paper. It’s more like acrylic paper. Mixing is harder with acrylic than with watercolor. By the time I mix a good color the paint is all dried up. Mixing with these types of primaries is a good challenge.

These blooms make me feel like I painted a mural. I could change the color but the blooms and the blending are beautiful. Then I started painting on copy paper. Copy paper and inexpensive paints! It feels so free. Oh and spraying watercolor over dry acrylic is like using watercolor over masking fluid!

Yes it’s possible

three orange and pink blooms with emerald green stems

Your dreams no matter the time or circumstance are posible. The color on these blooms are like yes of course your dreams are possible. Now how do I make that happen??? Ha

I was mixing up my version of turquoise green and suddenly I’m expressing a recent conversation.

Make Poster/Print Part 3

I am eager to finish but it’s important to take my time. Flowers need time to bloom. Blue and orange are great together. Pinks and peaches bring out the lighter tones. Just go with your ideas and see what happens. In the end it’s going to be beautiful! Don’t worry about mistakes. Have fun. These colors make me smile Maybe do a few deep green leaves. Blues make orange look good. Hearts. I like where this is going.

These were just a few of my thoughts. I’ll finish this print tomorrow.
