Today’s bloganuary topic is what is my favorite song? Listen to Quiero Ser as I paint? What a great idea!
I want a good blue and a liner brush.
What is your favorite acrylic blue? How do you make your blues dark? Tomorrow will be a good day to sketch and work on color. With all the blue, a splash of orange would have been nice. Are their warm blues? Yes. Let me work on this.

On my walk I saw the first glimpse of spring, white roses. The white and yellow always make me smile, speaks to my spirit. Should I add old work to De Colores? Paint everything new? At first, I wanted to fill each page with swatches of color. Then the page needed flowers. I had texture ideas. Today I thought of Morgan Harper Nichols. Her color, her work is amazing! Right now, all I can think of is flowers are drops of color. So maybe that’s it? I paint lovely swatches of color and look for the bloom. Yes, quiet time. Just me, my paint and a few fun tools.

Seriously, walking down the isles of Blick makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. Exploring a website isn’t as fun but getting art supplies in the mail is fun tool. Forest Green, Mauve and Indigo are on my list.
I like to think that my flowers and everything I paint feels like summer. To me summer is a time for being lazy, reflection, falling in love, the outdoors., peace and feeling free. I love it all! I want summer every day of my life. There should always be time to stroll. Yes I should add this to my list of projects. A poster? A print? Someday a book? Say! Let me right that down. Anyway that’s the story behind my paintings. Oh and there’s this need to feed my curiosity by using fun tools to paint. Wait till you see tomorrow’s post!
I’m trying to up my color game. I bought these Royal & Langnickel acrylics. Aside from the blue and green, the pink and yellow aren’t my tones. With a little mixing I was able to come up with colors I could work with.

It is hard to think of you always. The voice in my head always has something to say. I do think of you always. You are a part of me. But these thoughts try to keep us apart. Oh but with your breeze you hug me. I did see the Hopi Crape with all it’s color and strength. I shall paint one. I must.
Painting is my reminder that I am here. I am here and with you always.

I recently painted a tree. I haven’t painted trees since Wise Tress. The Hopi Crapes I keep seeing are calling my name. I love painting trees and beautiful flowers. Yes I did come home after a walk and paint a tree. It felt good.

I painted this months ago in lovely shades of nature. At that time the idea was, yes it’s OK to have negative thoughts but keep them to a minimum. Think Positive thoughts. I still believe that but this podcast about doubt being good has me thinking. If you are doubting then you’re not doing. It’s true because the moments when I have that spark, the warmth I am not doubting or thinking negative. James Victore said in his recent IG live, fix your sh**. Not my words but his. It’s the truth. Are you doubting? Are you afraid? Confused? Negative thoughts may always be there but we must choose to turn them into positives.
When you look at this poster as I did today, I noticed that two negatives became a postive. Sometimes you have a lot of negatives before the positive comes.
Right now I am writing this to motivate myself. I know I am not alone. That is why I create. I will continue to create and build and create more. For now I leave you with this poster. I’ll leave a link if you want to purchase.
