Good Day Yellow Blooms

It’s always a good day. There are only a few days left to get For a Colorful Life for free. All of my eBooks are free.

it’s a good day to paint flowers, just to see what I can do.

It’s a good day to be the light in someone’s darkened.

It’s a good day to be a friend

It’s a good day to encourage each other.

PLAY

Finger painting. Paper rolls. Flat brush. Clouds. Scraps of paper. Scrappy sponge. What do all of these ideas have in common? PLAY. For the past few days I’ve been painting. I always paint, every single day. These past days I haven’t had a single bloom that I want to share, scan or add to the shop. I did do a little writing for the color book. The writing is good. I like the writing. With the painting, it felt like I had to paint. I no longer have the entire day to paint. My best ideas, my best artwork happens when I have time to play. I miss the days when the ideas keep coming and I don’t want to run out of paper. I suppose that I forgot to simply let go and paint. I’ve played for 5 minutes or 10 minutes.

Yes this post and all of these projects are examples, reasons to let go and play. Surrender. We don’t need to be perfect because we’re not. We don’t need to have answers. We just need to pick up the brush and paint. Ok this post was my hold up wait a minute breath moment. Now I’m going to go finger paint some flowers.

Feel The Breeze

three peach yellow blooms with the words feel the breeze dance with ease.

You’ve got to, especially in the intense moments. Right now I want to pause, take a deep breath and think of all the projects yet to come.

Lovely shades of blooms,

You make me feel like when I gaze up at the moon

Oh yes there are poems to write

Nonsense and doubt. let go of that fight

Feed your body

Feed your mind

The world is ours so now it’s time to paint!

There’s room for all of us.

It’s going to be a great book.

Ok time to go eat and work on the color book.

In Love With Color

learn how to mix color with acrylic paints

Seriously, walking down the isles of Blick makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. Exploring a website isn’t as fun but getting art supplies in the mail is fun tool. Forest Green, Mauve and Indigo are on my list.

I like to think that my flowers and everything I paint feels like summer. To me summer is a time for being lazy, reflection, falling in love, the outdoors., peace and feeling free. I love it all! I want summer every day of my life. There should always be time to stroll. Yes I should add this to my list of projects. A poster? A print? Someday a book? Say! Let me right that down. Anyway that’s the story behind my paintings. Oh and there’s this need to feed my curiosity by using fun tools to paint. Wait till you see tomorrow’s post!

I’m trying to up my color game. I bought these Royal & Langnickel acrylics. Aside from the blue and green, the pink and yellow aren’t my tones. With a little mixing I was able to come up with colors I could work with.

Two pick Tool

a reminder that practice helps you get better and brings the best ideas.

Not sure what to call a sponge handle without the sponge.

I mixed up a beautiful orange. I started painting and let the weird shapes dry. Ok I felt like they were trash. After a few hours I started adding details and suddenly they became blooming beauties. I do have to erase a few parts, paste stems with flowers but these are beautiful. I could paint like this all day. Career? Yes!
