Valentine’s Finger Painted Heart

EttaVee’s finger-painted butterflies and hearts inspired this project. I like the feel of the paint on my fingers and making a mess. Then my mind wanders to my heart. I’m all about love. Sometimes ego takes over. I make mistakes. Right now I’m feeling gratitude. I want to do a paper collage flower for the word gratitude and I want to say believe in yourself. Just be yourself. And that’s what I was feeling when I painted this! I didn’t get to write the letters. I almost don’t want to. I mixed titanium white, fluorescent pink, magenta, rose pink, and a little turquoise to get deep magenta. I didn’t even use a brush to mix color. Palette paper where have you been all my life! It was just way too good. The flowers I painted afterward are beautiful but that’s tomorrow’s post.

Paper Palette Collage Hearts

Have faith and love writting on blue swatch palette paper paper

I was going to look for the flower shapes and doodle the details but cutting heart shapes was lovely! Thank you EttaVee! I can glue the hearts onto paper and turn them into art prints! I’m still going to do the flower shapes doodle. Tuesday I’ll get back to my roses project. Well, I did paint roses yesterday. I want to paint pink roses. I have been sketching roses. Oh, I have an idea for a wildflower thought. Yes, I’m still working on that project.

Do you have palette paper? I’ve just been using the back of mixed media paper or copy paper. Copy paper works ok. The creamy acrylic gets lost in copy paper and dries quickly. Let me know what kind of paper you use?

Roses-Valentine’s Day Workshop

This year I’m doing a countdown to Valentine’s Day. First up, we have hello beautiful!

7 pink and purple roses

I worked in layers. I was unsure of the end result. Yet I knew they were going to be beautiful. With every stroke, I let go. I was hopeful. This was a strip of paper. For a moment I thought this was going to be a loss. I kept painting. I like it! How could I not want to do Valentine’s Day painting? EttaVee’s post in turning palette paper into hearts? That gives me an idea! I have a list of ideas. How could I not want to do Valentine’s Day painting?
