Ceramics with Watercolor

I’ve been looking at a few referece photos of Mexicos ceramics. This video showcases the colors, patterns and animals found in a variety of ceramics. Ceramics have been around for over 3,000 years. In Old town San Diego there’s a ceramic shop. Near the town is Bazaar Del Mundo. The patterns and color are really connected with nature. Here’s some sketches I did some months ago to test my ideas and skills. Pretty good.

I painted the plate pattern. I like the color. As I look at my sketches I see that I’ll benefit from beginning with simple deisgns.

Today’s task is to paint a pot. Using the inspiration from the video I’ll create a pot with a design that incorporates my love of nature. I should try to make a pot from clay? Maybe.

Thanks for reading.
